The power of a foreign starter to win the Korean Series




The 2019 professional baseball, which lasted about seven months, ended with Doosan's victory on Wednesday. Three of the four games in the Korean Series (KS) were completed in nine or 10 consecutive innings, but the last thing I laughed at was the Doosan Bears, who ended the series with four straight wins. 

On the other hand, Kiwoom, the third-ranked team that easily beat the second-ranked SK Wyverns in the regular season with three straight wins in the playoffs, tried to win the championship in a reversal, but failed to overcome the wall of Doosan, a traditional Korean Series team that advanced to the Korean Series for five consecutive years. 인터넷경마

Why didn't Kiwoom, who had the upper hand over the Doosan Bears with nine wins and seven losses in the regular season, have not even collected one win in the Korean Series?





Kiwoom played a total of seven matches, including four semi-PO matches (3 wins and one loss) and three PO matches (3 wins) and managed to advance to the KS relatively easily. In particular, he even secured a four-day break just before the Korean Series thanks to his three consecutive playoff wins, hinting at the possibility of winning the so-called "upset." 
However, Kiwoom lost his fourth straight Korean Series title. The slump in the starting pitching staff, including foreign pitchers, also plays a part in this. Of the 11 games Kiwoom played during this year's postseason, only three (junPO, PO, and Korean Series) games were played by starting pitchers for more than five innings.  A series of early pitches by starting pitchers eventually forced a massive injection of bullpen pitchers into each game.
Fortunately, the team successfully advanced to the Korean Series thanks to the relief team's strong performance in time for the replacement, but the team continued to make early appearances in the bullpen due to the weak starting lineup.  Left-hander Lee Seung-ho saved his face with two runs in 5.2 innings in Game 2, while other starters still didn't show much strength.

일본의 남다른 한국 사랑은 지난 2002년 드라마 ‘겨울연가’ 속 욘사마 열풍에서부터 시작됐다. 이후 17년의 세월이 흐른 지금까지 일본은 ‘한류 열풍’의 중심에 서 있다. 국경을 넘어선 이들의 한국 사랑은 이제 연예계를 넘어 스포츠까지 확장됐다. 26일 키움과 두산의 2019 KBO 리그 한국시리즈 4차전이 열리는 서울 고척 스카이돔에는 특별한 손님이 찾아왔다. 바로 두산 베테랑  경마사이트   유격수 김재호의 열성 팬 오오츠카 시게코 씨다. 올해로 김재호의 10년 차 팬이 된 그는 지난해 일본 생활을 접고 한국으로 이사까지 왔다. 김재호에 대한 특별한 애정 때문이다. 시즌권을 구매해 정규시즌 두산 경기가 있을 때면 홈과 원정 상관없이 경기장을 찾아가 응원의 목소리를 냈다. 김재호를 향한 시게코 씨의 무한 애정은 구단에서도 이미 유명하다. 두산 측은 시게코 씨가 경기를 방문했을 때 종종 좋은 좌석을 제안했지만, 시게코 씨는 이를 거절했다. 다른 팬들과 똑같은 마음으로 김재호를 응원하는 것일 뿐 특별할 게 없다는 것이 그의 생각이다. 이날(26일) 한국시리즈도 마찬가지다. 시게코 씨는 함께 응원 다니며 인연을 맺은 한국인 친구와 함께 직접 티켓팅에 참여해 표를 구했다. 경기 시작 2시간 전 응원석에 기대 두산의 훈련 모습을 말없이 지켜보고 있는 그를 찾았다. 시게코 씨는 서툰 한국어로 “김재호를 좋아한 지 10년 정도 됐다. 수비하는 모습이 멋있어서 팬이 됐다”며 수줍은 미소를 보였다.
